Nadia Ahmad Samdin
“I’m an Artsy geek; i adore Shakespeare and his way with words. i wish i were born in Ancient Greece, where democracy began and the immortal gods bickered and sinned and ruled as if they were humans. my dream job is to be princess Jasmine or Pocahontas in Disneyland, but of course i succumbed to reality and am currently studying Law. one day i will trek through the border of Thailand and spend time understanding the cultures of the hill tribes. my biggest dream is to change the world, and i believe it can come true.”

Nur Ashsiqqin Binte Buang
A bubbly, friendly girl who has a passion for the environment and volunteering.

Tan Meng Yao
“I’m a very simple guy. I’m pretty much serious all the time but there are times where I can be funny and crazy too. I enjoy food and cheese burgers are my favourite! I can eat them three at a go. I workout often too.
”

Isaac Loh
“Hi, I am Isaac A.K.A The Stoke. I call myself the Stoke because I THINK I am an immortal but sadly, none of my friends or the people around me share the same sentiments as me. (The truth is I play too many games and watch too many shows!) Immortality aside, I enjoy the academic readings of Economics & Finance. Specifically, Macroeconomics and Behavioral Finance. (Which I will be doing at Stanford University after Army) For sports, I am an competitive bowler, an avid tennis player BUT I play poor golf. After a 10-year education at Anglo Chinese School, I am currently a third year student in Nanyang Polytechnic doing Business Informatics. I eat a lot & i mean A LOT. Bring me to a buffet and you’ll understand what i mean
I travel a lot with either friends and/or familes & i have been to many many many exotic countries and places. (Name it and most probably I’ve been there) Furthermore, I am lucky to have attended various conferences overseas (SMUN/HMUN/GYLC etc) and am glad to have an array of contacts who live everywhere around the world! (Don’t be funny and think the North Pole and all! Obviously I don’t know anyone who lives there!)
To end off, I don’t believe in sleeping more than 5 hours a day as I feel that the time used to sleep can be used to accomplish other things. I trade a lot mainly on the US Stock Market and to tell you the truth, I think i am addicted on it (thats why I can’t sleep)
Meanwhile, I hope each and every delegate will enjoy your stay in Singapore!
Isaac, AKA THE STOKE.
(Just let me live in my fantasy world…)

Zahara Yap
Zahara is a very eccentric 18 year-old because she will always have something black on her and always walk on tiptoes on wet surfaces. She has an annoying habit of preening herself whenever she sees a reflective surface. She is currently taking Biomedical Sciences in Republic Polytechnic. Indie is her favourite music genre and during her free time, she loves to feed ducks, rob banks and read gyaru magazines. Earned the nickname of “Diva” because that’s just the way she is, Diva-ish.
Julius Eleazar Tan
I’m an extremely fun-loving and carefree person who gets occasional bouts of passion when pursuing the things in life that interest me. I consider myself very adventurous, willing to give anything a try; from bungee jumping and sky diving to exotic cuisines (just don’t ask me to eat insects please). I’m an avid reader of fantasy books (especially those by Raymond E. Feist) and I’m a bit of a junkie when it comes to getting lost in new worlds and daydreaming about things impossible. I love to sleep in and wake up to a slow afternoon, where I can forget all my worries and obligations, even for a day. I like meeting new people and I’m pretty easy to get along with, it does takes that little bit more to move from acquaintance to friend though. I am a highly opinionated person who feels that I always have something to contribute to the discussion or topic at hand, which happens to be true…most of the time =D I thrive in attention which explains my penchant for hosting and emceeing many events, but more importantly, I love getting people to have fun along with me. I am very excited about Voices of the Future 2009 not only because we will be learning many new things but also because we will be meeting such a diverse group of people from all over the world. Looking forward to meeting all of you =)

He always believe… “When I grow up, I want to be rich and powerful so that the world will be mine for the taking. I want to be able to buy stuff without even taking a glance at price tags

“Always do your best so you can be proud that you gave it your best shot.”

Hey there, a brief introduction about Isabella before I start telling you what she is like. Don’t see her picture so cute and innocent ok. Looks are deceiving. A girl whom is hyperactive which you never fail to see her jump/run about crazily and crappy that always make you laugh and thinking that she’s lame. Another nick name we gave her is Miss Insane. Hyekel Abdullah
Hyekel is a 17 year old easy going and fun-loving person. start a conversation with him, he can go on and on. he is seen as someone who is approachable and friendly..that explains the reason why sometimes, wherever he goes he would bump into someone he knows. everybody loves to have fun, especially him. someone with a contagious laughter, he spreads joy to the people around him with his jokes and laughter. when that happens, sometimes he forgets the world ! despite that, he knows when to be serious and to do work when it needs to be done. he is in some way daring to try anything and everything accept for anything that has got to do with cockroaches which would totally freak him out ! poor boy ):
Hyekel is looking forward to this event, to be able meet and make even more friends from around the world sounds very exciting indeed. till then.

Tay Wei Yong
It’s great pleasure to be at the APEC Voices of the Future programme. For me, being able to work with youths from all walks of life has definitely broadened my horizons and allowed me to better communicate with young people. I currently volunteer at the Boys’ Brigade as well as the National Youth Council. Looking forward to the event!

Huang Jiayi
Hello ! I’m Jiayi and I love the hippopotamus for I think they’re really cute creatures. Someday, I think I might own one as a pet.
I can be really shy, but when I get to know you better or vice versa. HA ! You’ll be having your worst nightmare ! *insert evil laughter*
I love helping people, especially the less privileged. And I believe that we as youth should always contribute back to the society.
Currently studying Mechanical Engineering in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I hope to work as an engineer in the Aerospace industry (it has been a childhood aspiration since who-knows-when!)
Oh, & I love donkeys too !

Kelvin Khong
Kelvin here! not kelven.
well anyways, i like sports especially water sports such as kayaking etc.
I take up sports as a way to relax, vent anger and face away from reality =.=
im not much of a planner though i’ve been planning/organise events for school.
but i find myself more of executioner. anyway, im grateful to be part of VOF. =)

Tok Kheng Leng
Hi I am Kheng Leng and I am always caught red-handed in the most candid shots, as can be seen from the photo, I was caught red-handed again in a most ridiculous position. I love to dream and in doing so, I believe that dreams are reality waiting to happen.
Dreams aside, I enjoy sports under the sun. I spend most of my time swimming. As a member of Ngee Ann Lifeguard Corps, I will usually spend my Monday and Wednesday evening in the pool. I love to swim because it is the only time I have for myself to think. It is the only time in the day I had to reflect about my day. I like the freedom, the control over my own strokes and speed. This makes me feel more like myself after a day of hard work in school.
If there is one thing I like to spend on, it is for rigging my computer. I am the ultimate geek although I do not look like one. I love all kinds of technology and it enthrals me! Technology is fascinating for me and what got me so interested in technology today is robotics. I started doing robotics since primary school. The very first competition I participated was a bit of joke actually. It was more a form of punishment for not being able to keep my mouth shut during science lesson. One event eventually led to many more and this in a way, ignited my interest for technology.
I am extremely outgoing and I am an avid fan of The Diva, (Zahara) as well.
I have been enjoying the company of the other members of YOC, so I hope that you will enjoy our company too!
Lim Meng Chuan
Hi, I am Meng Chuan. The YOC call me M.C Hotdog beacause my name is relatively hard to remember. It originated from M.C which was one of my attempts to let them remember my name better.
I am a nature and sun lover. I like to spend time hiking around Singapore and tanning at Sentosa. I enjoy my personal time with my family and pet hamster.
My hamster is well-trained but it is so playful that it will never stop running around the house.
The YOC is like a family to me and it is amazing how all of us emerged from stranger to becoming great friends with each other. I believe that the bond between us will never break after this event. YOC, u are the Best of the Best=p

Goh Chao Qin
Hi, my name is Chaoqin. Many of my friends call me Chaos (pronounced as “Charles”) as my chinese name is a mouthful. I am currently a 3rd year student in National University of Singapore. I enjoy helping people and volunteering. Currently, I am currently helping to organise a 1 volunteer- 1 beneficiary camp with YMCA of Singapore which will be held in December. I am also a coffee addict. My record is drinking up to 7 cups of coffee a day which is totally madness. Nevertheless, I enjoy chilling out at a cafe, seeing the world go by in front of me.
I’ve joined the Voices YOC as it provides me an opportunity to know APEC better. I also enjoy working with people of different ages and backgrounds. The Voices experience has been very pleasant for me so far. I got to know friends whom i believe will be friends for a lifetime. I certainly look forward to seeing the Voices programme this year unfold.
